In film, a genre is a category which is formed by many conventions which are combined. There are many types of genre in film such as horror, thrillers, comedy, crime, action and romance. For example, the movie paranormal activity is put in the category of horror because it makes the audiences very scared and pops things out right in front of their faces which makes their heart beat and gives them adrenaline as they are frightened.
A sub-genre is a genre which is added onto a genre for example in twilight they have mixed romance and fantasy together to make the movie more interesting to the audiences.
In my opinion, out of all the genres i prefer horror and one of my favorite horror films is Paranormal Activity. This is because throughout the movie, it gave me adrenaline and i was frightened. Another reason this film frightens me a lot because it seems like it might be me next to be haunted. Also while watching the film even more it makes you wonder what would happen next.
