Film Opening Structure Research

Opening film structures are very important when creating any kind of film , there are a wide selection to chose from depending on the type of mood you want to create . Theres different types of structures discrete , narrative etc. All structures differ some are more complicated than others , and others are more edited than others, it just depends on the mood intended to set off.

This next opening structure is called 'Narrative' its quite different to the previous structured as in this one there looks like less editing and audience can see the location clearly. This would not be as effective for a thriller. The difference is that this opening is brighter than a discrete opening structure and seems less engaging with the audience. To me it doesn't leave you wanting more this probably would be better for another genre of film e.g. Sci fi.
